LIF ENERGY EFFICIENT LIGHTING AWARD SCHEME 2009/2010
ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSED 
EMILAS (Energy Management and Innovation in Lighting Awards Scheme) has been established by LIF to encourage the earlier refurbishment of existing lighting installations by recognising - and awarding - those lighting schemes showing proven energy savings, with a minimum level of 20% improvement over the installation being replaced. Projects must also demonstrate they comply with current Standards for lighting scheme design and installation, show flexibility of usage, and are innovative.
EMILAS scheme objectives:
- Promote installation of energy efficient lighting schemes and speed up investment in the refurbishment of existing lighting installations
- Help Government (and its agencies) achieve overall UK Carbon (Co2) reduction targets.
- Promote importance of good lighting in design and to bring innovative products to market using best practise in energy efficiency.
- Encourage responsible recycling of lighting products at their end of life
The 2009/10 Awards are open to everyone within the lighting industry and the associated supply chain e.g. manufacturers, lighting designers, architects, installation contractors Entries can be made by simply downloading the forms (see below) from www.lif.co.uk and Submitting them on-line
The catagories are:
A. Lighting of indoor work places - as given in BSEN 12464-1 [entry form]
B. Lighting of outdoor work places - as given in BSEN 12464-2 [entry form]
C Sports lighting - as given in BSEN 12193 [entry form]
D. Road and amenity lighting - as given in BS5489-1 and BSEN 13201 series. [entry form]
E. Building (facade) floodlighting - consideration to curfew and glare as given in BSEN
12464-2 [entry form]
F. Integral Lighting of Machines - as given in BSEN 1837 [entry form]
In addition there will be an Excellence in Recycling Award, sponsored by Lumicom and Recolight, that will be judged from across all 6 categories.
ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSED.
