May saw one of the most significant highlights in the lighting industry's calendar - as well as being the Lighting Industry Federation's AGM. the winners of the Federation's new Energy Management and Innovation in Lighting Award Scheme (EMILAS) were announced.
The Lighting Industry Federation (LIF) has launched its new LIF Lamp Guide 2009 - an up-to-the minute comprehensive web-based guide to lamps (light sources).
EMILAS is a new Lighting Industry initiative designed to encourage the refurbishment of existing lighting installations. The awards will recognise lighting schemes which show proven energy savings, flexibility of usage and innovation and are open to anyone working within the Lighting Industry.
LIF is one of the sponsors of the Lighting Education Trust which supports lighting education in the UK, notably an MSc at the Bartlett School of Architecture and a CD-ROM-based distance learning course based at South Bank University.
